Shower Counts (Indie Soft)

[Intro] (soft piano, shaker) [Verse 1] I've been stuck beneath the covers half the day Telling myself that it's easier to stay But there's a door down the hallway, just a few steps more And warm water waiting on the other side of the door [Pre-Chorus] I don't have to conquer everything Just turn the handle, let it sing [Chorus] A shower counts, a shower counts Every drop is a little bit of "I'm still here" Wash the heavy off, let the steam rise out On a hard day, baby, a shower counts [Verse 2] Clean towel on the hook, a song on low Feel the warmth running from my head down to my toes I'm not fixing my whole life in ten minutes flat But I'm taking care of me, and I'm proud of that [Pre-Chorus] I don't have to conquer everything Just turn the handle, let it sing [Chorus] A shower counts, a shower counts Every drop is a little bit of "I'm still here" Wash the heavy off, let the steam rise out On a hard day, baby, a shower counts [Bridge] Fresh shirt, open window, breathe the air Maybe I'll even brush my hair Small things stack like stepping stones I'm finding my way back home [Final Chorus] A shower counts, a shower counts Every drop is a little bit of "I'm still here" Wash the heavy off, let the steam rise out On a hard day, baby, a shower counts [Outro] (piano fades) Yeah, a shower counts
